Introducing Tramando

18-05-2010 12:56 #
18th May 2010

Translated into English, the name ‘Tramando’ means both ‘knitting’ and to ‘make something’, so it’s only fitting that the Barcelona based label, whose new collection has landed at Tessabit, make gorgeous knitted textile pieces that mix high-concept fashion and technology. The creation of lauded Argentinean designer (and one-time photographer) Martin Churba, each item of clothing has a complex and visually arresting aesthetic. Churba describes his designs as being of the ‘philosophical gene of textiles, an ancestral and basic human expression’, and this season’s collection, which showed at Barcelona Fashion Week reflects these values, all eye-catching use of textiles and daring cuts (no doubt in thanks to the label’s in house LAB of material technology). Knots and intricate detailing featured prominently, as well as artfully sculpted shapes, all in an intensely moody palette, and to add a touch of rock glamour to the proceedings, the pieces were modelled on the catwalk by Rolling Stones offspring, and hot model Lizzie Jagger. Proof that Tramando is true red-carpet standard show-stopping style.
